The Covenant of Redeemer Baptist Church

Having been brought, by God’s grace, to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and having been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we, the members of Redeemer Baptist Church, do in the presence of God, and this assembly, now solemnly and joyfully covenant with each other. God enabling us:

We will walk together in love as Christ commands, a family whom God has saved by His sovereign grace.

(John 13:34–35; Rom. 12:10; 1 Pet. 3:8)

We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, bearing patiently with each other and freely forgiving as God in Christ has forgiven us.

(Eph. 4:1–3; Matt. 18:21–35; Eph. 4:32)

We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, but will assemble regularly for worship and fellowship.

(Heb. 10:24–25; 1 Cor. 12:12–27; Prov. 18:1)

We will pray for each other, care for each other, and pursue each other’s good as we encourage frequently, admonish gently, and receive correction humbly.

(Col. 4:2; James 5:16; Rom. 12:10; Heb. 3:13; Gal. 6:1; Eph. 4:15, 29–31)

We will declare the gospel boldly, proclaiming Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, trusting God to make our efforts effectual.

(Matt. 28:19; Mark 1:17; 2 Cor. 5:18–20; Eph 6:20; 1 Pet. 2:9; 3:15)

We will seek to win the lost to Christ by our example and effort, giving special attention to raise up the children under our care in the nurture and instruction of the Lord.

(Deut. 6:4–7; John 1:41; Eph. 6:4)

We will rejoice at each other’s happiness and bear each other’s burdens and sorrows with tenderness and sympathy.

(Rom. 12:15; Gal. 6:2; 1 Pet. 3:8)

We will strive to mortify our sin, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, to pursue lives of holiness that are well-pleasing to God.

(Rom. 12:1-2; Phil. 1:27; Titus 2:12)

We will work together to uphold this church’s faithful gospel witness, as we sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.

(Matt. 18:15-20; 1 Cor. 5; 2 Cor. 2:5–11; Acts 2:42)

We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the ministry of the church, to the needs of our neighbors, and to the spread of the gospel to the ends of the earth.

( Cor. 16:1–2; 2 Cor. 9:6–7; Rom. 12:13; 1 John 3:17–18; Matt. 28:18–20)

And through life, whatever opposition or persecution may come, we will live for the glory of Him who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.

(Matt. 5:11–12; 1 Tim. 6:12-16; James 1:2; 1 Pet. 2:9)

We will, if we leave this congregation, as soon as able, join another gospel-preaching church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

(Heb. 10:24–25; 13:17)

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen
